2013 WOMENS COMPETITIVE SOCCER PROGRAM

Guelph Soccer will field two teams in the Ontario Womens Soccer League in 2013.

Should anyone be interested in both teams please attend the sessions and make all coaches aware.

The Women's MJD is currently training on Sunday evenings.

Ontario Womens Soccer League 

The OWSL is the Premier Women's League in Ontario. MJD is the entry level of the OWSL's pyramid of play, then up to Regional with Provincial at the top of the pyramid. More information about the League can be found by clicking here

The season will start for all Divisions of the OWSL the second week of May!

What’s the Level of Competition at Each Level? 

Senior MJD is similar to a District League, but includes teams in the adjoining districts. MJD is a good level of play that is enjoyed by ladies of all ages. The committment is a minimum of 1 game and 1 practice per week, with the goal of gaining promotion into the Regional Division.For an idea of the opposition, please click on the link and look for "MJDL South".

Senior Regional Premier is the 2nd highest level of the pyramid in the OWSL. This team could be playing teams from anywhere in the Province. Guelph Royals play in the South, Again, click on the link and follow the instructions to find the proposed teams in the Regional Premier Division.This is a very high level of play, equal to University, and therefore has a higher level of committment. The absolute minimum will be 1 game, 1 practice! This will be adjusted depending on the opposition and the schedule!

NOTE: Each team typically in the OWSL's League Cup competition.This is run in a tournament format over a weekend in June. The MJD and Regional teams may require extra games, later in the season.

How do I get involved? 

The official tryouts for the Guelph Royals Womens Regional Premier team will take place in April (schedule listed below), but in the meantime Women's Pick Up Soccer takes place Sundays from 9:00- 10:00 pm at the Guelph Community Sports Dome (375 College Avenue West), during the month of March and April.
