Guelph Soccer Launches University Prep Program for 2026 Season
The Guelph Soccer Club is pleased to announce the launch of our University Prep Program, a new high-performance training environment designed for athletes preparing to compete at the post-secondary level. This is a pilot program open to male players born in 2007 and 2008 who are looking to pursue varsity soccer opportunities or who are currently connected to a varsity program and preparing for their upcoming season.
Throughout the Fall of 2025, Guelph Soccer had the privilege of collaborating with Guelph United to deliver the U20 program. “We are proud of the commitment, character, and quality shown by the athletes who participated. While future involvement in the U20 program is still under discussion, we are excited to be able to continue offering a high-performance pathway through this new initiative”, commented David Frizzell, Executive Director.
The University Prep Program is designed to mirror the demands of university soccer environments. Players will train in a competitive and supportive setting that emphasizes physical preparation, technical refinement, tactical understanding, and mental performance. The program will be led by Justin Springer, Guelph Soccer Technical Director as the Head Coach, with additional technical support from Alan Koch, Guelph University Men’s Soccer Head Coach. There will also be technical support from various varsity and high-performance level coaches over the duration of the program.
The program will roster 20 committed players and will include ongoing mentorship, individualized development planning, and special opportunities to compete against high-level opponents. By the end of the program, players will be ready for the demands of varsity soccer.
To be considered for the program, please email Head Coach Justin Springer at justin.springer@guelphsoccer.ca.
We are thrilled to offer this program and are looking forward to continuing to support dedicated athletes in their pursuit of excellence both on and off the field.
