Meet our Skill Development Coordinators!

We asked Coach Victoria:

Why do you love soccer and what motivates you as a coach?

I love soccer because it allows for people of different backgrounds to bond over one common interest. You do not need to speak the same language as another to be able to play with them. The Guelph Soccer community is what keeps me coming back. There are so many opportunities to get players and coaches involved and keep them involved for life. I coach to give back to the community I grew up playing in and to continue to grow and learn in the soccer world. I've had many experiences as a player that I can bring in to my coaching, and I want to advance my own soccer knowledge in the role of coaching. I have coached with Guelph soccer in the past as a technical staff role, overseeing many different programs. As well, I am an assistant coach to the Guelph Gryphons Women's Varsity Soccer team. I look forward to the opportunities to learn and work with other groups at Guelph soccer.

We asked Coach Andrew:

Why do you love soccer?

I love soccer because it’s a sport that combines different individual skills within a team in order to achieve one objective of putting the ball in the back of the net. It’s fun and exciting and very much a universal language all around the world.

What do you love about Guelph Soccer?

I think Guelph Soccer is a fantastic organization that helps players and staff to grow and constantly seek opportunities to develop. Guelph Soccer creates an environment that allows the community to be involved in all aspects of the sport for all aspiring soccer players.

Why do you coach?

I coach because I think it’s a great way to stay involved in the game and help young players to gain confidence as they continue to develop within the game.

Tell us a bit about your coaching experience.

I started coaching initially in the club’s House League program from 2017-2019 before loving to the Guelph Jr Gryphons L3 in 2020 and John F Ross Junior Boys in 2022.
