Guelph Soccer is thrilled to continue into our fifth year of our Junior Gryphons Performance Program (formerly known as the Academy Program) for the 2026-2027 competitive season. The Performance Program will include the following teams:

  • Boys U14 (2013)

  • Girls U14 (2013)

  • Boys U15 (2012)

  • Girls U15 (2012)

  • Boys U17 (2010)

  • Girls U17 (2010)

As the pathway to high-performance soccer continues to evolve across Ontario and Canada, our Performance Program provides Jr. Gryphons players with additional opportunities to challenge themselves and continue their development. Players work closely with Guelph Soccer’s technical staff and certified team coaches to elevate their training experience through:

  • Increased weekly practices

  • Strength and conditioning program

  • Technical staff led futsal program

  • Educational and game analysis sessions

  • Individual goal setting

The aim of the program is to equip our players with the tools needed and the right support to take on the Ontario Premier League (OPL) and/or post-secondary pursuits!

how the tryout process works

Our tryout process is designed to give players multiple opportunities to experience our environment and demonstrate their abilities.

Interested players will:

  • Register for their age group's tryout sessions

  • Participate in 1.5 hour training sessions with players in their age group

  • Be evaluated by Guelph Soccer's coaching and technical staff

  • Have the opportunity to experience the Jr. Gryphons performance environment

IMPORTANT: Selected players may be invited to participate in additional sessions before final roster decisions are made.

TRYOUT SCHEDULE


About the 2026-2027 Performance program

The competitive program runs from October 2026 to September 2027. During the indoor season (October - April), teams will have two turf practices per week, a 16-week futsal program, and participate in an Indoor Soccer League. During the outdoor season (May - August), teams will have three practices per week and they will participate in the iModel West Region. Teams will also have a 30-week Strength and Conditioning program that will span both the indoor and outdoor season.
