Nutrition & Hydration

Nathan holds a Master of Applied Nutrition from the University of Guelph and dual undergraduate degrees in Nutrition & Food (Toronto Metropolitan University) and Health Studies (Queen’s University). Specializing in sports nutrition and performance optimization, Nathan has worked with athletes at all levels, including as Sports Dietitian for the Kitchener Rangers. He takes a practical, evidence-based approach to help athletes and active individuals improve performance, recovery, and overall well-being through sustainable, personalized nutrition strategies. Based in Guelph, Nathan is dedicated to supporting the local community and enjoys staying active through quadball, as well as cooking and baking in his free time.

The Guelph Soccer Club is pleased to announce a new partnership with ION Health & Performance to support the health and development of our athletes through improved education and resources around sports nutrition and hydration.

Through this collaboration, registered dietitian Nathan Reid will work with Guelph Soccer to provide guidance, resources, and practical strategies that help players and families better understand how nutrition and hydration contribute to performance, recovery, and overall well-being.

This partnership reflects Guelph Soccer’s continued commitment to supporting the holistic development of athletes both on and off the field. By equipping players with knowledge about fueling their bodies properly, we aim to help them build healthy habits that will support their performance and long-term love of the game.

Nathan Reid will be responding to questions submitted by Guelph Soccer players, coaches, and parents, in the form of a newsletter, which will be distributed directly to Guelph Soccer members, and posted here on this webpage.
