General Information

The House League Plus Program is designed to provide players the opportunity to receive technical training once a week in addition to their scheduled House League games.

The program is designed to promote those recreational players who are seeking a higher level of development with the opportunity to train once per week with our technical staff.  *Players who are registered in our recreational summer house league program are the ONLY players who are ELIGIBLE for this program.

These additional sessions are intended for players looking for a little extra this summer. These Saturday sessions are led by staff to provide further instruction and skill development. Sessions allow players to play with their friends and a mix of new others from across the league. Throughout the program, players will develop their technical ability through curriculum design and overall team development.

House League Player Placement

It is of great importance for the teams involved in the league to be competitive against each other. The club uses software to balance teams using age and player ratings from previous seasons to create the rosters. During the first few weeks of the season, we will be assessing teams based on their skill level. In the event that there are teams that are evidently dominant over others within their age group, players may be moved to even out the playing field. This is a recreational program, the focus is for kids to have fun, be active, and build their confidence.

My child wants to play with their friends. Can they request to be on the same team?

Guelph Soccer understands the desire for players to want to play with their friends. With that in mind, we accept ONE player request. This request needs to be one-to-one player reciprocated requests (ie. both players must have requested they be on the same team as each other). To review our full request policy please click here.

Can my child play up a year or down a year?

Players are required to register in their designated age group. Anyone that thinks their child would benefit from playing up due to their skill/ability would need to get approval in advance from our technical staff. Please email customerservice@guelphsoccer.ca with your request to have a technical staff member assess your child.

Players are not typically approved to play down a level unless there are exceptional circumstances. For these types of situations we ask that you email customerservice@guelphsoccer.ca with your request and full details.
