2026/2027 Youth Tryout Sessions

U14-U18 (2013-2009)

Discover the Jr. Gryphons pathway

Guelph Soccer’s rep programming is designed to help athletes reach their full potential in a positive, competitive, and supportive environment while fostering a lifelong love for the game. Our competitive framework is built around the principle that players develop best when they are placed in an environment that appropriately challenges them, provides consistent coaching and support, and allows them to progress at their own pace.

Our tryouts allow for athletes to participate within training sessions where they can experience being coached by our certified coaches and technical staff, interact with players within their age group, and experience our overall developmental environment. These sessions allow for players and families to determine if the competitive pathway at Guelph Soccer is the best environment for their individual development. It also allows the club to recruit athletes and players beyond technical and tactical competencies, accounting for character traits such as engagement, joy, the will to learn, and more.

how the tryout process works

Our tryout process is designed to give players multiple opportunities to experience our environment and demonstrate their abilities.

Interested players will:

  • Register for their age group's tryout sessions

  • Participate in 1.5 hour training sessions with players in their age group

  • Be evaluated by Guelph Soccer's coaching and technical staff

  • Have the opportunity to experience the Jr. Gryphons development environment

These sessions also provide families with an opportunity to determine whether the competitive pathway at Guelph Soccer is the right environment for their player's individual development.

IMPORTANT: Selected players may be invited to participate in additional sessions before final roster decisions are made.

*Please note additional session information and arrival instructions will be sent via email prior to the start of tryouts.
