Annual General Meeting and Club Awards - 2024-2025 Season

On Sunday, February 1st, Guelph Soccer Club hosted our volunteer breakfast, annual general meeting, and club awards ceremony at the Italian Canadian Club.

Our 2024–2025 Club Awards Ceremony recognized the outstanding achievements, dedication, and contributions of players, coaches, referees, and volunteers across the club. The event celebrated individuals who exemplify excellence on and off the field and who continue to positively shape the Guelph Soccer community.


Outstanding Player of the Year – District

Abuk Buoy is a hardworking midfielder whose perseverance and tenacity define her game. Overcoming injuries throughout the season, she continues to bring energy, leadership, and a strong offensive presence to every match. Her positive attitude and commitment make her a vital member of her team and a well-deserved award recipient.

Pawlo Logi has shown exceptional consistency, humility, and leadership since joining Guelph Soccer. As Co-Captain of the BU15 District team, he helped lead the group to League and District Cup Championships while earning call-ups to older age groups and selection to the U16 Academy squad for 2025–2026. He embodies the values of teamwork and dedication.

Outstanding Player of the Year – Academy

Paige Wombwell is recognized for her consistency, commitment, and leadership throughout the season. She sets the standard in training, leads by example, and represents the club with pride. Her work ethic and influence have made a lasting impact both on and off the field.

Jacob Schubotz has been a key contributor to the 2010 Boys’ Academy team, leading from the front and creating opportunities for others. He led his team and the iModel West region in goals and delivered decisive performances, including the lone goal in the U14 Ontario Cup Final.

Outstanding Player of the Year – Regional

Amelia Rachtan demonstrated resilience, focus, and commitment throughout the season. She consistently supported her teammates and responded to challenges with determination and belief in the process. This award recognizes both her performance and strong character.

Milo Constantis has shown outstanding growth and commitment throughout the season. He consistently embraced feedback, competed with purpose, and demonstrated a strong desire to improve. His mindset and work ethic make him a standout player with exciting potential ahead.

Graduating Outstanding Player of the Year

Ava Hunyady made a clear impact every time she stepped onto the field, delivering key moments when her team needed them most. This season, she also joined the University of Guelph Gryphons varsity program, helping secure an OUA Silver medal while continuing to demonstrate leadership and confidence.

Hartwill Smith Hernandez is recognized for his team-first mentality, professionalism, and positivity. He consistently supports his teammates and leads with humility, embodying the values of Guelph Soccer both on and off the field.

Referees of the Year

Tiruo Deng consistently performs at a high level, communicating clearly with players and coaches while maintaining composure and professionalism. He actively seeks feedback, supports last-minute assignments, and demonstrates a positive approach that fosters respect and safety across the game.

Madeline Wall is recognized for her exceptional communication, professionalism, and ability to motivate players in all situations. She accepts feedback with enthusiasm and shows a strong desire to grow as an official. Her positive attitude and commitment to development make her a standout referee.

Volunteers of the Year

Michelle Wall is a true powerhouse within the club, serving as a team manager, house league coach, and active league participant. Her organization, leadership, and behind-the-scenes dedication provide a strong foundation for success. Michelle consistently goes above and beyond, making a lasting impact on the club and community.

Danielle Reid has been a quietly consistent volunteer, serving as team manager for multiple competitive teams. Her calm leadership, care for players, and tireless administrative support allow teams to thrive. Her selfless commitment has been instrumental to her teams’ success.

Recreational Coaches of the Year

Nicole Clarke is recognized for her dedication, professionalism, and commitment to creating a positive and inclusive experience for all players. Through clear communication, thoughtful feedback, and kindness, she has made a meaningful impact on the recreational program.

Rob Bredin consistently brings out the best in every child, ensuring equal opportunities, promoting sportsmanship, and fostering respect for teammates and opponents alike. His generosity, leadership, and dedication truly reflect the spirit of the game.

Grassroot Rep Coach of the Year

Brandon Rees places the needs of players first, fostering confidence, skill development, and a love for the game. His commitment, care, and leadership have created a positive and lasting impact at the grassroots level.

Youth Rep Coaches of the Year

Jessica Decorso & Violet Hipkin are recognized for their leadership and impact on female athlete development within the club. Their vision, mentorship, and commitment to inclusivity have empowered players and staff while strengthening the pathway for girls in sport.

Academy Rep Coach of the Year

Victoria Hinchliffe always had passion, preparation, and technical leadership throughout the season, contributing to the team’s strongest competitive finish to date. Guelph Soccer also congratulates Victoria on achieving her CONCACAF National B Diploma accreditation.

Lifetime Achievement Award

Conor Brogan is the 2024–2025 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. Through leadership roles on the Board of Directors, including Chair, and his continued commitment as a coach, Conor has made a lasting impact on the club for the past eight years. Known for his high standards, passion, and love of the game, Conor’s influence is felt across players, families, and the broader soccer community.
